Guam's only offshore island escape — pristine beach, snorkelling, and total seclusion
Cocos Island is a small, uninhabited island located off the southern tip of Guam near Merizo, accessible only by a short ferry ride from Merizo Pier. Managed as a beach resort destination, the island offers Guam's most pristine swimming and snorkelling environment — clear, calm, turquoise water protected by a shallow reef with excellent visibility and abundant marine life. Day-trippers come to swim, snorkel, kayak, and picnic in complete seclusion, far from the tourist infrastructure of Tumon. The ferry service from Merizo makes Cocos a feasible half-day or full-day escape. It is one of the few places in Guam where the underwater environment remains largely undisturbed, with healthy coral, reef fish, sea turtles, and the occasional manta ray.
