Koh Lanta is a long, narrow island in Krabi Province on Thailand's Andaman coast, known for its laid-back atmosphere, long west-facing beaches for sunset views, and proximity to excellent snorkeling and diving sites including Koh Rok and Hin Daeng.
Hat Khlong Dao (Long Beach) and Klong Khong Beach are the most popular stretches, with a mix of bungalows, boutique resorts, and restaurants. Unlike Koh Samui or Phuket, Koh Lanta has deliberately avoided large resort chains and maintained a low-key, local character. The island's national park occupies the southern third and offers forest trails and mangrove tours. Koh Lanta Old Town on the east coast is one of the best-preserved Sino-Portuguese settlements in southern Thailand. Island Seeker covers hotels, restaurants, dive shops, snorkeling tours, and yoga retreats across Koh Lanta.
