Phu Quoc Area GuideLong Beach, Phu Quoc, Vietnam
Phu Quoc's classic west coast — sunsets, beach bars, and the island's most popular stretch
Long Beach (Bai Truong) stretches for 20 kilometres along Phu Quoc's west coast — the longest beach on the island and the main resort corridor. Most of Phu Quoc's established hotels, beach clubs, and seafood restaurants cluster along the southern half of Long Beach, between Duong Dong town and An Thoi at the southern tip. The beach faces west and catches spectacular sunsets over the Gulf of Thailand, which is perhaps its greatest asset: every evening, beach bars fill with visitors watching the sky ignite behind the silhouettes of the coconut palms. The water is generally calm year-round on the west coast, making it suitable for swimming except during the May–October monsoon season when waves can pick up.

questions & answers
What are the best beach clubs on Long Beach?
Long Beach has several quality beach clubs at varying price points. The Coco Palm Beach Resort and La Veranda Resort offer day access to their beach facilities for non-guests. Rory's Beach Bar is a long-standing favourite for casual sundowners. Ong Lang Beach, a quieter stretch 15 km north, has more boutique beach club options. For luxury beach club experiences with pools and full restaurant service, the JW Marriott and InterContinental properties on the island's south tip offer the most polished facilities.
Is Long Beach crowded?
The southern sections near Duong Dong town are busiest with tourists year-round. Walking north along Long Beach, development thins significantly and you can find stretches with very few people even in peak season. The entire beach is public — simply walk past the resort frontages to access open sand. November–April (dry season) is peak season; the beach is quieter May–October during the southwest monsoon, though swimming may be rougher.
