Lombok is an Indonesian island east of Bali, offering a quieter alternative with its own distinct character: Mount Rinjani — Indonesia's second-highest volcano — dominates the north, world-class surf breaks line the south coast, and the car-free Gili Islands sit just offshore to the northwest.
Senggigi on the west coast is the main resort area, with a relaxed atmosphere and sunset views toward Bali. Kuta Lombok in the south is the surf hub, with a growing cluster of boutique hotels and beach clubs around Selong Belanak and Mawun Bay. The Gili Islands — Trawangan, Meno, and Air — are car-free and among Southeast Asia's top diving and snorkeling destinations. Island Seeker covers hotels, surf schools, dive operators, restaurants, and Gili Island trips from Lombok.
