Chori Burger

Boracay's most famous street food — a juicy grilled chorizo patty in a soft bun with cucumber, onion, and the vendor's secret sauce. Cheap, garlicky, and a little sweet, eaten barefoot on White Beach at night.

About this dish

The chori burger is Boracay's signature street snack, born from the island's beach-vendor culture as an affordable, hand-held meal for sun-tired tourists and locals alike. It swaps the usual beef patty for a flattened, grilled Filipino-style chorizo — a coarse, garlicky, faintly sweet pork sausage — laid in a soft pandesal-style bun with cucumber, onion, and a swipe of each vendor's closely guarded sauce, usually a sweet-spicy mayo or banana-ketchup blend. Sold for just a handful of pesos from carts that fire up along White Beach as the sun goes down, it became a rite of passage for budget travellers in the 2000s and remains the definitive 'I'm in Boracay' bite. Stalls near D'Talipapa and D'Mall are credited with the original recipe, and every regular swears their preferred cart makes the best one.
