BUSAY FALLS

Busagak Falls sits at the foot of a hill in barangay Busay, about an hour from Cebu City. Getting there requires a proper hike—it's not a casual walk. The trail descends steeply through forest with views of Mt. Canlaon volcano across the water, and you'll need to grip branches and tree roots on the way down (it gets slippery when wet). Once you reach the river, a short walk leads to the falls themselves. The water's deep enough to swim in, and huge boulders and thick vegetation make it a solid spot for a picnic. Entry is free. The Municipal Government is planning concrete stairs and railings to make the trek easier.
