How do I get to Olango Island?
From Cordova (on Mactan Island), take a pump boat from Santa Rosa Wharf to Olango Island (approximately 15–20 minutes, ₱25–₱30 per person on a shared boat). Boats run frequently throughout the day. From Cebu City, the quickest route is to cross to Mactan via Cordova Bridge then proceed to Santa Rosa Wharf. Total travel time from Cebu City to Olango is approximately 45–60 minutes.
When is the best time to see migratory birds on Olango Island?
The peak season for migratory shorebirds at the Olango Island Wildlife Sanctuary is September through March, when species such as the Far Eastern Curlew, Grey Plover, Pacific Golden Plover, and various sandpipers and egrets arrive in large flocks.
