Boracay Area GuideStation 1, Boracay, Philippines

Station 1, Boracay

The quieter, more upscale end of White Beach β€” fine sand and fewer crowds

Station 1 is the northern end of Boracay's legendary White Beach β€” widely regarded as having the finest, whitest sand on the island. The beach here is at its widest and most pristine, with a quieter atmosphere than the central stations further south. Luxury hotels including Shangri-La Boracay and Discovery Shores dominate the beachfront, giving Station 1 a noticeably more upscale character than the rest of White Beach. The water is calm, shallow, and crystal clear in dry season (November–May), making it ideal for swimming and wading. Paraw sailing (traditional double outrigger sailboat) is particularly popular here. The beach path connecting Station 1 to Station 2 is Boracay's most pleasant walk β€” vendors, bars, and restaurants thin out, leaving mostly swaying palms and powder-soft sand.

  • White Beach northern stretch β€” the finest and whitest sand on the island
  • Paraw sailing β€” traditional Filipino outrigger sailboats direct from the beach
  • Shangri-La Boracay β€” the island's most luxurious resort with a private cove

questions & answers

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Station 1 better than Station 2 or 3?

Station 1 has the best sand quality and least commercial density, making it the quietest and most upscale option on White Beach. Station 2 is the heart of the action β€” closest to D'Mall, most restaurants, and the most social beach bar scene. Station 3 is the most budget-friendly and has more authentic Filipino beach culture. Your choice depends on priorities: serenity (Station 1), convenience and nightlife (Station 2), or budget (Station 3).

How do I get to Station 1 from the main ferry port?

Arriving at Cagban Jetty Port (the main arrival point from Caticlan), tricycles take you to any station β€” agree on the fare before boarding (typically 50–150 PHP depending on your destination). The ride to Station 1 is around 15–20 minutes. Carts (motorised trikes) are also available inside the resort area where regular vehicles are restricted.
