Sea turtle snorkelling and marine sanctuary near Cordova
Gilutongan Island is a small barangay island situated between Mactan and Olango, part of Cordova municipality. It is home to the Gilutongan Marine Sanctuary, one of the most accessible and consistently rewarding snorkelling sites in the Cebu area, known particularly for reliable sea turtle encounters in the shallow waters directly off the beach. The island itself is a small fishing community, and day-trippers come specifically for the snorkelling rather than a beach experience. Gilutongan is commonly paired with Olango Island or included in Mactan island hopping itineraries.
