Long Beach (Bai Truong) stretches for 20 kilometres along Phu Quoc's west coast — the longest beach on the island and the main resort corridor. Most of Phu Quoc's established hotels, beach clubs, and seafood restaurants cluster along the southern half of Long Beach, between Duong Dong town and An Thoi at the southern tip. The beach faces west and catches spectacular sunsets over the Gulf of Thailand, which is perhaps its greatest asset: every evening, beach bars fill with visitors watching the sky ignite behind the silhouettes of the coconut palms. The water is generally calm year-round on the west coast, making it suitable for swimming except during the May–October monsoon season when waves can pick up.
