About

Saladan is Ko Lanta's main arrival point, a former fishing village that's kept its traditional character. You'll find wooden houses on stilts over the water—many now housing restaurants serving Thai seafood and international fare. Moo Uan, The Black Pearl, and Catfish Bookshop are among the standouts. There's a small beach good for a walk or paddle, plus several resorts and guesthouses. It's convenient and atmospheric, though not the island's prettiest stretch of sand.
