Chamorro Village Night Market

A cultural marketplace in Hagåtña that comes alive at its Wednesday Night Market, when stalls fill with Chamorro food — red rice, barbecue, kelaguen, fresh seafood — alongside crafts, live music, and dancing. The best place to taste local culture.

About

The Chamorro Village in Hagåtña is a marketplace of shops and stalls that is open through the week but truly comes alive at its famous Wednesday Night Market, the single best place to dive into Guam's local culture. From early evening, the village fills with the smell of grilling barbecue as vendors serve a feast of Chamorro and Pacific food — red rice cooked with achote, barbecued chicken and ribs, kelaguen, kadon pika, fresh seafood, kelaguen, tropical fruit, and desserts like latiya — alongside stalls selling crafts, woven goods, jewellery, and souvenirs. There is usually live music, line dancing, and cultural performances, and the atmosphere is festive and family-friendly, drawing locals and visitors alike. It's an inexpensive, authentic, and sociable way to eat your way through Guam's cuisine in one place and experience the island's CHamoru hospitality first-hand. Smaller markets also run on some other evenings, but Wednesday is the one to plan around.
