What level of surfer is Uluwatu for?
Uluwatu's main break is for experienced surfers — it is a powerful, barrelling left-hand reef break that closes out in large swell and requires a cave entry/exit. Intermediate surfers can handle it in smaller conditions (2–4 ft). Bingin and Dreamland are more forgiving for intermediate surfers. Padang Padang is world-class and experts-only in overhead surf. Beginners should surf Kuta or Seminyak before attempting the Bukit peninsula breaks.
How do I get to Uluwatu from Seminyak or Ubud?
Uluwatu is approximately 25 km south of Seminyak (40–60 minutes by Grab) and 55 km from Ubud (90 minutes by car). There is no reliable public transport — Grab or a pre-arranged driver is the practical option.
