Visiting Boracay in October

October is Boracay's transition month — the habagat southwest monsoon progressively weakens and the amihan northeast trade winds begin to establish. Weather improves noticeably through the month: early October may still have some rough days, but by late October the seas at White Beach are calming, rain is less frequent, and the island starts to feel like the beginnings of peak season. Prices remain at low-season levels. For early bird travellers who want good conditions at affordable prices, late October is an excellent discovery.

common questions

FAQ — Bali in October

Is October a good time to visit Boracay?

The second half of October is genuinely good — improving weather, calming seas, low prices, and small crowds. Early October can still be hit-or-miss from leftover habagat. If you can choose your October week, go late. It's one of the better-value months of the year for those willing to accept some weather variability.

When does the amihan start in Boracay?

The amihan (northeast trade wind) typically begins to establish in November, though early hints appear in October. By mid-November the switch is usually complete and White Beach is calm again. October is the transition — conditions improve gradually rather than switching on like a light.

Are there jellyfish in Boracay in October?

Jellyfish can appear in Boracay waters at various times of year, particularly during transition seasons when water currents shift. October is a possible jellyfish month. Check with beach staff and lifeguards when you arrive — if jellyfish are present they will know. Box jellyfish are rare but possible; always swim in areas monitored by lifeguards.
