quick answer

A Guam address is written like any US address: the name, a street address or P.O. box, then the village, the state code GU, and a five-digit ZIP code that starts with 969 — for example, "Tamuning, GU 96913". Guam's ZIP codes run from 96910 to 96932. They follow post offices rather than village lines, and several are for P.O. boxes only, so check a specific address with the USPS ZIP Code Lookup before you send anything.

State code

GU — used where a US address has its state

ZIP codes

96910–96932, all starting with 969

Last line

Village, GU 969XX

P.O. boxes

Common — several Guam ZIP codes are P.O. box only

The Guam address format

Write a Guam address the same way you would a US mainland address. The first line is the recipient's name, the second is the street address or P.O. box, and the last line holds the village name, the two-letter state code GU and the ZIP code.

A business on a main road might read: Island Example Co., 123 Marine Corps Drive, Tamuning, GU 96913. A P.O. box might read: Juan Cruz, P.O. Box 12345, Hagåtña, GU 96932. Both show the layout only; they are not real addresses.

The village goes where a US address would put the city. Guam has 19 villages, and Tumon, the hotel district, is part of Tamuning.

Guam ZIP codes

Guam ZIP codes are assigned to post offices, not to villages, so one ZIP code can cover several villages. ZIP code directories built from USPS data list about a dozen codes between 96910 and 96932.

ZIP codes used for street addresses include 96910 (Hagåtña), 96913 (Barrigada, also used for street addresses in Tamuning and Tumon), 96915 (Santa Rita), 96919 (Agana Heights) and 96929 (Yigo).

ZIP codes used for P.O. boxes include 96912 (Dededo), 96916 (Merizo), 96917 (Inarajan), 96921 (Barrigada), 96923 (Mangilao), 96928 (Agat), 96931 (Tamuning) and 96932 (Hagåtña).

The directories do not agree on every code, so treat this list as a guide and confirm a specific address with the USPS ZIP Code Lookup.

P.O. boxes and street delivery

Many residents and businesses in Guam receive mail at a P.O. box, and some ZIP codes have no street delivery at all. When a business lists both a P.O. box and a street location, use the P.O. box for mail and the street location for visits.

If you are sending a parcel to someone in Guam, ask which address they receive deliveries at: a P.O. box, a street address, or a business address where they can pick it up.

Check an address before you send

For a specific street address, the USPS ZIP Code Lookup at tools.usps.com gives the ZIP code and the city name USPS expects for it. Writing a city name that USPS does not list for that ZIP code can delay delivery.
