Guam with Kids: The Best Family Activities on the Island

Guam is an outstanding destination for families. The island is compact, easy to navigate, and packs a range of age-appropriate activities into a short trip. Here are the best things to do with children on the island.

1. Tumon Bay Beach

The shallow, calm waters of Tumon Bay are perfect for young children. The beach shelves gradually into the lagoon, there are no strong currents close to shore, and the water temperature is a constant 29 °C. Snorkel gear is available for rent along the beachfront, and even young beginners can see colourful fish just a metre from the water's edge.

Tip: Go early morning for the clearest water and lightest crowds.

2. Underwater World Guam (Aquarium)

Located at the Guam Premium Outlets mall, Underwater World is Guam's public aquarium and one of the most popular attractions for families. The centrepiece is a 40-metre walk-through tunnel where sharks, rays, and hundreds of fish swim overhead. Feeding sessions and touch pools add to the experience.

It is ideal for younger children who may not yet be ready for ocean snorkelling.

3. Ypao Beach Park

Ypao Beach Park has lifeguards on duty at weekends, picnic shelters, outdoor showers, and shallow, roped-off swimming areas. It is one of the safest beaches for families on the island and far less crowded than the main Tumon strip.

Pack a lunch and spend a half day here — children can swim, build sandcastles, and play in the park while parents relax in the shade.

4. Saturday Night Market at Chamorro Village

The Saturday Night Market is a fantastic family evening out. The atmosphere is festive and safe, the food is diverse enough to satisfy even fussy eaters, and live music and cultural performances keep children entertained. Try the BBQ skewers, fresh coconut drinks, and fried banana fritters.

5. Talofofo Falls

The Talofofo Falls Resort Park in southern Guam offers a cable car ride over the jungle canopy and access to a series of natural waterfalls. The journey through the rainforest is an adventure in itself, and the falls provide a dramatic backdrop for photographs.

6. Two Lovers Point

The observation deck at Two Lovers Point is safe, well-fenced, and easily accessible. Children enjoy the dramatic views and the novelty of looking straight down 120 metres to the sea. The coin lock wall — where couples attach padlocks — is also fascinating for older children.

7. War in the Pacific Sites (for older children)

The War in the Pacific National Historical Park is compelling for children aged 10 and over. The exhibits at the Asan Beach Unit visitor centre use photographs and personal accounts to tell the story of the island's WWII occupation and liberation in an accessible, age-appropriate way.
