Klong Nin Beach
A relaxed, palm-lined beach in the centre-south, a favourite for its laid-back village, golden sand, and great sunsets. Calm swimming in the dry season and a string of low-key beach bars make it a popular base away from the busier north.
About
Klong Nin Beach sits in the centre-south of Koh Lanta's west coast and is many travellers' favourite stretch of sand on the island — a long, relaxed beach of soft golden sand lined with leaning palms and a small, walkable village of laid-back bars, restaurants, and mid-range and boutique places to stay. It strikes a balance that's hard to beat: quieter and more low-key than the busy north around Long Beach, but with enough going on in the evenings to feel sociable, without the rowdy backpacker reputation of some neighbours. The sea is generally calm and good for swimming through the dry season, and the west-facing beach delivers wonderful sunsets, with a string of beach bars where you can sink into a beanbag and watch the sky change. Its central location also makes it a convenient base for reaching the national park to the south and the beaches and sights to the north.
