Visiting Boracay in March

March is arguably the optimal time to visit Boracay. The amihan is still blowing — White Beach remains calm and sunny — but the post-Chinese New Year drop in visitors makes the island noticeably more relaxed. Accommodation prices soften, restaurants have space, and the early morning beach isn't elbow-to-elbow by 9 am. Sea temperatures are warming toward their annual peak. For those who want great conditions without peak-season pandemonium, March delivers.

travel tips

Travel Tips for March

If Semana Santa (Holy Week) falls in late March, expect a significant surge in domestic Filipino visitors — book ahead and be prepared for a different, more festive beach atmosphere than typical peak season.

March is the last reliable month for northeast trade winds. By April the winds begin to shift and the amihan weakens — making March the final optimal kitesurfing window of the amihan season.

Mid-week rates in March can be 15–25% cheaper than weekends, and the beach is significantly quieter Monday to Thursday.

common questions

FAQ — Bali in March

Is March a good time to visit Boracay?

March is an excellent choice — perhaps the best combination of good conditions and manageable crowds. Weather is reliably dry and sunny, seas are calm, and the island is meaningfully less crowded and less expensive than January or February. It's the smart traveller's peak-season month.

Are there jellyfish in Boracay in March?

Jellyfish are occasionally present in Boracay waters throughout the year, but peak periods vary. March is generally not a notable jellyfish month. If you see jellyfish stings reported at the beach, ask at your hotel — conditions change and lifeguards on the beach will know current conditions.

Is Holy Week (Semana Santa) crowded in Boracay?

Very. Holy Week brings one of the largest influxes of domestic Filipino tourists of the year — many families and young Filipinos visit Boracay for the holy week break. If Holy Week falls in late March, the beach becomes extremely busy and accommodation books out months ahead. Prices spike significantly.
