Phu Quoc sights
Suoi Tranh Waterfall
A gentle stream and waterfall tumbling over granite boulders through forest in the island's interior, reached by an easy shaded walk. A cool, green break from the beaches with small pools for a dip, busiest in the rainy season.
About
Suoi Tranh (Tranh Stream) is the most accessible of Phu Quoc's modest waterfalls, set in forest in the island's interior about ten kilometres east of Dương Đông. From the entrance, an easy, shaded walking path of around 15–20 minutes follows the stream as it tumbles and trickles over smooth granite boulders, passing small cascades and rock pools where you can cool off with a paddle or a dip. It is not a thundering, dramatic waterfall — flow varies a lot with the seasons, and it can slow to a trickle in the dry months — but it offers a pleasant, green, jungly contrast to the coast and a chance to see a bit of Phu Quoc's protected interior without a hard trek. The site has steps, bridges, and picnic spots, and there is a small entrance fee. It is at its best and fullest during and just after the rainy season (roughly June–November); the nearby cave and longer trails reward those who want to walk further.
