Fish Eye Marine Park
An underwater observatory at the end of a long pier over the Piti Bomb Holes marine preserve — the only one of its kind in Micronesia. Descend below the surface to watch coral and tropical fish through the viewing windows, no swimming required.
About
Fish Eye Marine Park, on the west coast at Piti, is built around an underwater observatory — the only one of its kind in Micronesia — that lets you experience Guam's reef without getting wet. A 300-metre pier reaches out over the Piti Bomb Holes Marine Preserve (named for craters left by WWII bombs, now thriving with coral), ending in a tower whose viewing room sits about three metres below the surface. Through its windows, visitors watch tropical fish, coral, and other marine life going about their day in the protected waters, making it ideal for families, non-swimmers, and anyone who wants a guaranteed look at the reef in comfort. The surrounding preserve is also a popular spot for snorkelling and diving for those who do want to get in, and the park runs cultural dinner shows in the evening. The walk out along the pier, with the open sea on both sides, is a pleasant attraction in itself, especially toward sunset.
