Koh Lanta sights
Kantiang Bay
Often called Koh Lanta's most beautiful beach — a curving southern cove of soft sand and vivid blue-green water framed by jungle-clad headlands. Quieter and more scenic than the northern beaches, with good swimming and snorkelling at the rocky ends.
About
Kantiang Bay (Ao Kantiang) is widely considered the most beautiful beach on Koh Lanta — a perfect, curving cove near the island's quieter southern end, where a crescent of soft golden sand meets vivid blue-green water, framed on both sides by steep, jungle-covered headlands. The setting feels more dramatic and secluded than the long, flat beaches of the north, and the bay is backed by a small village of restaurants, bars, and a mix of budget guesthouses and one well-known luxury resort tucked into the hillside. The water is clear and good for swimming, and the rocky points at either end offer some of the best shore snorkelling on the island. Because it sits well south, past most of the development, it has a calmer, more end-of-the-road atmosphere, and the sunsets here are spectacular. It pairs naturally with a trip to the nearby national park at the island's southern tip, making the scenic drive south well worth it.
