Osmeña Peak
The highest point on Cebu at 1,013 m, ringed by jagged, saw-tooth hills that look like a green dragon's back. A short, easy hike leads to the summit for sunrise, sunset, and overnight camping with views to both coasts.
About
Osmeña Peak, near Mantalongon in the highlands of Dalaguete, is the highest point on Cebu at 1,013 metres, but its fame comes less from the altitude than from the view: the summit is surrounded by a sea of jagged, closely packed limestone hills that ripple into the distance like the spine of a green dragon or a row of shark's teeth, especially atmospheric when wrapped in early-morning mist. Reaching the top is refreshingly easy — a short, gentle 20–30 minute walk from the trailhead through vegetable farms — which makes it accessible to almost anyone and a favourite for both sunrise and sunset. Many hikers camp overnight at the grassy area near the peak to catch the dawn, when the temperature in these cool highlands can drop sharply. From the top, clear days give views across both the east and west coasts of southern Cebu, and the peak is often combined with Kawasan Falls or the south-coast beaches into a single trip.
