Wat Chalong stands as Phuket's most significant Buddhist temple, dating back to the early 19th century. Built by local monks who once helped defend against a Chinese rebellion, this sprawling complex features a stunning 60-meter tall Chedi housing a sacred Buddha bone fragment. Visitors can climb to the top floor terrace for panoramic views of the temple grounds. Intricate wall paintings depicting Buddha's life and numerous golden statues create a deeply spiritual atmosphere. The temple, officially named Wat Chaiyathararam, attracts both local worshippers and curious travelers seeking cultural insight.
