Hidden on Bali's eastern coast, Goa Lawah Temple sits between Candidasa and Padang Bai. Known as the Bat Cave Temple, it features a natural cave housing thousands of fruit bats that have been considered sacred for centuries. Established in the 11th century by priest Empu Kuturan, this is one of Bali's nine directional temples designed to protect the island from evil spirits. Visitors can explore several courtyards, shrines, and a main pavilion dedicated to the sea god, all while enjoying stunning coastal views and a deeply peaceful atmosphere.
